How to Remember the Days in Each Month with Your Knuckles

Discover a fun and easy way to remember how many days each month has using your knuckles.

Remembering how many days each month has can be tricky, but with this simple knuckle trick, you'll never forget again. Here’s how it works:

Start with your left hand in a fist. Each knuckle and the space between knuckles represent a month. Starting from the left:

  • January (ON the knuckle): 31 days
  • February (BETWEEN the knuckles): 28 days (29 in a leap year)
  • March (ON the knuckle): 31 days
  • April (BETWEEN the knuckles): 30 days
  • May (ON the knuckle): 31 days
  • June (BETWEEN the knuckles): 30 days
  • July (ON the knuckle): 31 days

When you reach July, move to the next hand's first knuckle:

  • August (ON the knuckle): 31 days
  • September (BETWEEN the knuckles): 30 days
  • October (ON the knuckle): 31 days
  • November (BETWEEN the knuckles): 30 days
  • December (ON the knuckle): 31 days

Here’s the trick in action: each month that lands on a knuckle has 31 days, while the months that fall between knuckles have 30 days, with February being the special exception.

This mnemonic device is a handy way to quickly recall the number of days in each month. Practice it a few times, and soon you'll be able to remember the days in each month effortlessly.
